News Notes: Latest eNewsletter or eUpdate;Archived Newsletters and Updates Welcome to the Victoria Chapter of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA). TSCPA is a nonprofit, voluntary, professional organization representing Texas CPAs. TSCPA has 20 local chapters statewide and has 28,000 members, the largest in-state membership of any CPA organization in the nation. The Society is committed to serving the public interest with programs that advance the highest standards of ethics and practice within the CPA profession.
The Victoria, Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, founded in 1958, is an organization of approximately 250 members from Victoria and eleven surrounding counties. The Chapter, together with the TSCPA, works to enhance the integrity of the CPA certificate by implementing programs that build professional skills and broaden public perception of CPAs’ knowledge and services.
In March TSCPA hosted the 3rd annual Charity Dinner. Held at PumpHouse Restaurant, Tommy Schlein of Good Old Songs provided entertainment for the evening. Gift baskets were rafflect off the support the TSCPA Relay for Life team.
TSCPA members enjoy socializing with each other during this stressful time of year.
Members and their guests were very generous as they purchased raffle tickets for these gift baskets. All proceeds benefitted the American Cancer Society Victoria County Relay for Life 2012.
Everyone had a good time listening and dancing to the singing of Tommy Schlein.
On April 27th, the Victoria chapter once again participated in the Victoria County Relay For Life to help raise money to fund cancer research and patient assitance. Co-captains Tina Wleczyk and Laura Johnston worked hard to organize the team and raise money through various efforts, including yard pinwheels, securing donors for raffle baskets, and auction items. More than was raised. Go Team!
